Remembering Commander Paul Bauer

February 20, 2018 Tribute

To our North Dearborn Association Members & Friends,

On February 13, 2018, Chicago Police Commander Paul Bauer was tragically killed in the line of duty.

Commander Brauer was in charge of the 18th police district, in which we are located. He was a part of our community himself - he went above and beyond in many ways, serving our community bravely and was faithfully involved in our neighborhood. He was always there for us, giving us a great deal of his time and attention by meeting with our NDA representatives to discuss our neighborhood security issues, listen to our concerns, and explain in detail what the police were doing to respond. Many of you may have spoken with him at our 2017 NDA Annual Meeting last May.

Commander Bauer was admired by all for his spirit, skill, and commitment. He died as he spent his life - serving us all. He was a staple in our community, and will be missed dearly.

The North Dearborn Association donated $1,000 to the Chicago Police Memorial Fund in his honor.
